View Full Version : Framerate in wmv+joining

Hi,
I have two clips in wmv+wma and I want to join them and compress.

I am afraid of synchronization, because (info from VD-MPEG):
clip1 has framerate 23.981 and clip2 framerate 23.999 --- strange numbers and differ from each other. The audio is always a bit longer than video.

My target is x264, AC3 and MP4.

What is the best method of joining? I mean w/o audio is no problem with Avisynth...

Thanks
R.

Convert one frame rate to the other (or both to an actual standard framerate, like 29.97), using your favorite avisynth framerate-changer. Search avisynth usage forum, a thread came up about it just a week or two ago.

Now, it's possible that you could use graphedit to mux the wmvs into mkv, but the $64,000 question is whether it preserves all the proper timecodes. Then you have to use vfr2avi to get the timecodes and an avi that you can process, and then find a way to get those timecodes into the mp4 output. I think one's being worked on but isn't ready yet. Probably the first is easier.

Wow, I loaded the wmv file into VD-MPEG, then made direct stream copy of frames 0-149, 1000-1149 and 10000-10149.
The first file has 150 frames, the second 167 and the third 297. FPS always same as original, time differs.
I am really getting afraid of what will be the result after spending the half of my lifetime encoding:(

Then you have to use vfr2avi
where can I get it?
