Okay, I was looking around and didn't find anything specifically on what I'm trying to do, so I thought I'd ask to see if there's a simple way to do this.

Basically I want to take clips from different DVDs and combine them into something I can watch from my harddrive.

I know, you're saying this has been gone over and over, but here's the thing I was wondering. Using DVD Decrypter I've ripped a DVD's image file onto my harddrive and watched it on a virtual drive using Dameon Tools. This works great, so I was wondering if I could do the same thing using combined clips.

The only way I can think to do this is to rip the clips I want and then reauthor a DVD and burn it (I'm using Nero Recode, but I also have gknot). And then take the newly burned DVD and rip the ISO file from that. However, I might be making this too complicated.

Is there a simpler way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

John

There should be plenty of help for you in existing threads in the DVD Authoring sub-forum. In order to take clips and form a new ISO you will need to rip the DVD either in File mode or IFO mode, select your clips and reauthor. Depending on your program, you may be able to save it as an ISO image.

Hi!

You can set NERO to "burn" to "Image Recorder". Doing so will write an ".NRG" image file (similar in concept to an .ISO image file) to your hard drive.

You can play ".NRG" files directly (no mounting necessary) with the VLC player (formerly VideoLAN)...
