Hi guys.. first post here =) I realise this question has probably been asked before many times... but I've done my research... and wanted to know if anyone else was up to date on any methods to get around the protection, I've looked around and seen that people used to use US proxies to get around it and I've tried that with no luck - "as you are using an anonymous proxy bla bla"... Any other ideas? I purchased this DVD on holiday and it was a nasty surprise to find I couldnt watch the HD portion when I got back... Let me know =) Thank you

What exactly are you trying to get around?

DRM I believe, when you try and watch the High Definition WMV file it loads up a website to obtain a license, however it won't let you get a license unless you are using an american IP address...

That makes some sense now, though I'm unfamiliar with defeating DRM. There is a thread in the Decrypting forum, DRM10 cracked? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=89243) that may be of use to you.

Yep, I found that thread while I was searching for any information.. Unfortunately it seems to use that you have to already have the ability to playback the file in the first place which I do not.. =( It would have been nice if on the back of the dvd Artisan would have at least mentioned the fact that other IP addresses cannot play back that portion of the disc..

You just need to find a proxy whose IP address isn't on the block list.

You just need to find a proxy whose IP address isn't on the block list.
If it can detect that a proxy is anonymous, then there's no need for a block list.

Good old DRM. And a DVD I'd have bought AGES ago if it wasn't for that. $20 less for the film industries :P
