ok ill keep this as simple as possible.

i have the latest version of avisynth installed on my system (winxp sp2), along with vdub 1.6.5 and ffdshow (9th of nov build).

i wanna open an .mp4 file in vdub via a avs script.

directshowsource("c:\TEST\filename.mp4")

problem is when i try to open the file in vdub in pops up a message that the source filter for both audio and video could not be found....??

how can this be when i have ffdshow installed? i get this same error when i try and play a .mp4 in wmp.

any solutions??

P.S I use to get .mp4 files to play in wmp and vdub (via the same script) just fine a while back, but since i did a bit of reinstalling of codecs and stuff it doesnt want to work anymore.

EDIT: Its ok now, problem solved. Just had to install haali's media splitter.
