I'd like to try an clear this up for everyone who has ever had a problem getting his/her notification:
1. The notification is mailed to ALL VIPS (no exceptions) through the DVD-RB SMTP server.
2. If a failure notice is received, a second attempt is made through a commercial service provider's SMTP server.
3. If a failure notice is received from that attempt, a 3rd notice is sent through an internationally known large scale SMTP server.
4. Another failure notice results in a 4th attempt to deliver the notice through another internationally known large scale SMTP server.
Unfortunately if you or your service provider is using anti SPAM measures that throws away messages -- there is no failure notice sent to the sender... it just gets trashed.
Please read the next line carefully:
If you didn't receive your notice, it is your anti-SPAM software. That has been the case in virtually every single case in which someone believes they were left out.
I keep logs of every message sent. I have documentation in that log showing the complete SMTP conversation in which your service provider accepts the message including a message ID.
Please take heed. I feel like a voice crying out in the wilderness about this terrible anti-SPAM problem... while SPAM sucks -- not getting your mail sucks worse. My experiences with DVD-RB has convinced me that anti-SPAM software is throwing away a lot of legitimate e-mail.

Sorry jdobbs
You nailed that one for me. You and your other server have been added to my white list. Funny thought that they got thought before, no matter it will not happen again.

Hey... I didn't mean to sound like I'd singled you out, and sorry if it appeared that way... I just hijacked the thread as an opportunity to vent about these anti-SPAM packages.

@jdobbs
I had to alter my own Email account to accept Rebuilder updates, too. Bummer, but at least my "spam" (read; Email you just might want to check out for yourself anyway... therefore, what's the advantage to letting a program toss it in the first place?) is saved for a period of time in a seperate folder before deleting itself. Thank goodness, the update was there... but it still represents just one more nusance that comes with internet access. Now if you want to discuss spyware and trojans --
Yeah, you're right. We don't have that kinda time.

I was going to do it but then I thought you should :) ... that explanation really deserves its place on the FAQ.

@jdobbs --> As far as all of us VIP have our own key for rebuilder , why don't you publish either the vip version on dvdrebuilder.com so we must only get our personalized key by the mail notification ?

Probably because then it would be easier to hack

@jdobbs --> As far as all of us VIP have our own key for rebuilder , why don't you publish either the vip version on dvdrebuilder.com so we must only get our personalized key by the mail notification ?There are several reasons. It's mainly because the pro versions are on a different server and I want that bandwidth reserved for those who were kind enough to donate. Also, when you make the link public it gets downloaded by everybody without reading any of the details. Then they send me e-mails telling me how it sucks because it doesn't work (as well as waste the bandwidth). It also helps defray confusion as to which key goes to which version -- they are listed in the same notification.
Probably because then it would be easier to hackThat too.
