I came across Button group 2 in menuedit. (The source was original DVD)
It seems to be almost the same as group 1 and to be honest I do not know what for is that.
I use Scenarist as an authoring tool and it creates only Group 1.
I would be very greateful if someone explains me if grou 2 is important or not in case I reauthor DVD and correct menu navigation or sends some link where to find any information about that. Menu Edit doesn't have any help and in DVD structure I also found nothing.
Thanks Bilbo

In a 4:3 menu you need only one set of buttons for one menu screen.
For a 16:9 (wide screen) menu you have to create at least two sets (groups) of buttons. One group for wide (for a 16:9 wide screen TV set) and one group for letterbox or pan&scan (for a 4:3 standard TV set), depending which format you have chosen for the menu display. Since you can have wide, letterbox and pan&scan at the same time (letterbox or pan&scan will then displayed according to your player setup) , up to 3 groups are possible.
In most cases the button commands are the same in every group, but it is'nt a must. The position of the buttons have to be different for each group to match the background image in all display formats.
DVD Authoring programs (e.g. DVDLab) create the two (at least) button groups automatically if you make a 16:9 menu. I don't know what Scenarist does.

I see. Thank you for comment. I never have tried to make a 16:9 layout in Scenarist what might be the reason for only one set of buttons.

in scenarist you have to make the 2 different groups/bitmaps/highlights etc.

Thanks I will try it, but is that possible to make disk for both 16:9 and 4:3 ?
I mean in the Scenarist, because the profile is set for one or another.

If you make a 16:9 menu, then it is for both 16:9 and 4:3. Thats what button group 2 is for.
A 16:9 movie should have set the automatic letterbox stream attribute to play correctly (letterboxed) in 4:3.
