AnyDVD failure on Closer, why?

I own the Closer DVD, dutch version, and I tried to rip it to my harddisk using AnyDVD 5.5.5.1 and DVD Decrypter.

Sure, I read many posts on different forums and I was able to rip it with DVDFab Decrypter. That's not the point.

I am wondering, trying to understand, why did AnyDVD in conjunction with DD fail to copy my movie? (both in File&ISO mode)
The first four files or so it goes OK, but then it starts re-reading, it cannot go further.

There should not have been a issue unless you don't have DVDD settings set to default and under General untick Check For Structure Protection, also under I/O tick ELBYCDIO - Elaborate Bytes

I did that already, sorry for not telling. It's basic knowledge when setting up DD with AnyDVD.

edit: for double-checking I reverted back to defaults by using the button 'defaults' and unchecked structure protection and chose Elby I/O. Did not help.

You would be surprise how many ppls don't know to do that when they use the two together.

Here is another suggestion, but ANYDVD will half to be off when using this and DVDD settings set back to default.

Thank you WarDog, for this suggestion. I already read something about these files, and this has gotten it clearer to me.
But the question is why doesn't AnyDVD work, when it should. Are the methods that AnyDVD uses, maybe not sufficient to have a 100% rip-able disc?

Hi!

With all of the recent variations of "ARccOS" copy protection being applied to new DVD releases, it's quite possible that AnyDVD is not capable of handling some of them. Virtually all similar software used for this purpose are constantly undergoing revisions to deal with each variation...

Do it this way - How to backup ARccOS DVDs (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56078). It looks a little complicated, but it isn't really and it works!
