Hi
I am posting from the Virtual dub forum about an avs error I am encountering.
I am transforming HD REZ quicktimes (1920x1080) for post processing in virtualdub.
I am using the directshow(" ####.mov") .avs script to open the movies as AVS files.
This has worked wonderfully with clips of a lesser duration under 3 GIG in size. Anything over that
filesize I get an error saying the following.
"directshowsource:could not open as audio or video.
"unspecified error"
(Y:/over3gigtest.avs,line 1)
Its odd that the smaller file sized clips work where as the larger ones dont.
I get the same results when opening the .avs scripts in WMP.
They are all rendered with the same codec. Blackmagic 8bit. I have heard there should not be a file size limitation to this method. Is this correct?
I also just tried using the QTreader.vfp which allowed me to load the 170Gig movie in Virtual dub.
It seems the qtreader slows playback quite alot compared to the "directshowsource" method which played back the other clips at near real time.
DO you have any ideas what I may be able to do to get the directshowsource avs script method to work with these larger files.
Virtualdub 1.6.11
AVISYNTH 2.5 RC1
XP DUAL xeon 2.8 processor
2 gig ram
Many thanks
