View Full Version : Chapter point issues

After backing up a film, and watching the movie, the chapter points and film timing is all skewed. The film has 20 chapters and is 105 minutes long. If I choose the 18th it will take me to the credits rather than the film, 19 will take me to the main menu, and 20 results in nothing. If I do not fast forward the film or change chapter points it plays straight through with no issues and ends at the films advertised length. However, if I decide to fast forward, the film will end, if I change chapter points the film timing is all messed up.

I did a search and if I recall correctly, Scenarist 3.0 and up messes up the chapter points, but why am I unable to fast forward or have my DVD player show me the correct time. (this issue also arises if I use a software player). Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like the ifo hasn't been updated correctly. What procedure have you used for ifo updating?

BatchIfoUpdate 0.9.0.10 following the instructions from the Big 3 guide.

hi majesty,

although i think Zeul's first response of incorrect;y updating the .ifo's is the most likely cause, there are a couple more questions i'd like to ask.

1. does the original dvd exhibit the same chapter behaviour when played on your standalone or software players?
2. does the original dvd exhibit the same time seek problems when played on your standalone or software players? the reason i ask this, is that points to problems with your TMAPTI tables, which *should* have been copied over when updating the .ifos.
3. did you do any pre-processing on the source?
4. where there any errors in the back-up process?

cheers
