I'm trying to crop a trailer that is in a 1920x1080 transport stream (.ts). It works fine, except that the auto cropping is using the white line at the bottom of the transport stream (which I assume has some kind of data) to crop the bottom. I know that you can hit Ctrl+F9 to get to hidden options, but how are you supposed to indicate how much of the bottom needs to be cropped off? For that matter, how are you supposed to know how much needs to be cropped off?

After you crop, use the Preview function to check. It can be tedious, but it works. You could also install GordianKnot and use its cropping feature just to see how much needs to go, then copy that setting in AutoGK. Who knows, you might even like GordianKnot better.

I never could figure out Gordian Knot the last time I used it. At the time I was using Vidomi, which was nice and easy, but it hasn't been updated in like 2 or 3 years. Luckily, AutoGK came around.

Is there possibly an easier solution? If not, where can I download Gordian Knot? I checked at SourceForge.net, but evidently it hasn't been updated since 2003. If that's the one you're suggesting, which download do you suggest from this website:

The Gordian Knot Codec Pack or the Gordian Knot Rip Pack? Or both?

You will only need the rip pack since you already have the codecs you need.

You won't need to encode with GordianKnot - in order to load a file you will need to run it (or a small selection) through DGIndex, then load the saved .d2v file into GordianKnot. It has a preview window that's always open when there's a file loaded, so you can see exactly what's cropped and sized. Once you have your cropping the way you want (which will display in pixels) you can enter those numbers into AutoGK.

I liked Vidomi too, and I still use it for TV captures since it has less difficulty with audio synch. I'd like to see it continue development to include the latest XviD and DivX, as well as incorporate AC3 audio.

Hi-

For some reason AGK seems to think these files are 1088

AutoGK uses Mod16 resizing (in your case, height being divisible by 16), and 1080 is only divisible by 8. For AVI, it's a good idea to have the width and height divisible by 16.

Because the white line only seems to appear on the interlaced programs--I dunno, maybe some are shot in film and others are in video (examples: Boston Legal mostly FILM, ER is interlaced).

In any case if I tweak the autocrop setting in CTRL-F9 to take 8 off the bottom, for these interlaced programs, then the white line goes away.
