MPEG-4 Header file

I am very new to MPEG-4. Could anyone tell me how to read MPEG-4 header or metadata information such as duration, bit rate, etc.,.

i assume you are talking about the .mp4 container? if so this is the wrong forum

to readout info about .mp4 files you can use the mp4info and mp4dump tool from mpeg4ip or mp4box from gpac
