Hi,
im a newbie in authoring DVD-9 for mastering while beeing quite experienced with DVD-5.
Now I'm trying to create a Disc Image (DDP and Physical) and setting the laayer break the right way. When I create an image with Maestro, it shows me the chapter points and lets me choose one for the layer break. The number of sectors can be evenly divided by 16, everything seems to be fine. It also seems to correspond with the layer-break-option in Gear Mastering.

I wanted to back-check this with the "Layer break tool" in DVD-Lab Pro with my readily compiled Video_ts folder. But DVDLab shows me a slighty different Layer-Break sector, about 500 Sectors away, which can't be divided by 16.

Burning the Image on DVD+R DL with the Layer break from Maestro seems to work, the DVD Player changes the Layer precisely at the given point.

Do you think I should worry about the Sector calculated by DVD-Lab or simply leann back and rely on Maestro & Gear, doing their job right?

The only and best tool is PgcEdit! You can set the Layer Break with Preview and burn the folder with ImgBurn or DVDDecrypter.
