Hi,

Just got the Hauppauge PVR 150. I want to use the MPG hardware encoder to encode my library of AVI and other media. I am not asking how to encode while capturing (that's easy), which is what most hardware encoding topics discuss.

Hauppauge offers a conversion tool on their web site that seems to do the trick, but it ONLY support MPG input and not AVI etc...

Does anyone know how/if this is possible? Using a software encoder to convert to MPG first kind of defeats the purpose of having a hardware encoder.

Maybe someone knows some kind of trick with Graph Edit?

Regards,
Brad

maybe you can play it on a computer that has coax output capabilities and use that as your input on your computer with the PVR...i think the hardware encoder can only be used if you're using the input on the encoder.
