Let say I have 6 AVI files, I want to make a data DVD and play it in my DVD player ( my DVD player supports AVI,Divx...). Do You think is there any software which can make a data DVD that autorun from file 1 to 6 when I insert the disk in and I can have a menu for them too?. I know that I can join them into a big file but then I don't have the choice of which file I want to play first.
Thanks.

Hi!

If you have a Philips DVP 642, just make a data DVD of your 6 .AVI files. The builtin menu (You have to activate this in the player's "Setup") will list all 6 .AVIs. Once you click on one of the .AVIs, when it's finished playing, the player will automatically start playing the next .AVI in the sequence...

If your player were a PC, you could read Doom9's Launcher Guide: http://www.doom9.org/autorun_divx.htm

But ... your player isn't a PC.

And, as you probably have already figured out, a data DVD disc is not a video disc.

DivX Networks developed an enhanced .avi container which they call their DivX Media Format -- to provide for some limited menu capability in DivX Certified players. There are several threads about it ... here is a link to the first and "main" thread:

What You need to do is, convert those avi files into Mpeg-2 files. Then you can set it up to play all 6 of them in any order you want it to play.

Read the Guide about Format Conversion.

Well... I can see that at the moment I have to use the old way: burn the AVI files in data using nero. Drop the DVD into DVD player ( Pioneer DV 383S ). It's ok but there's no fancy looking menu, only the files in order as I choose.
Thanks.

Well, at least you have some way to accomplish it ;>}
