I have been playing with Auto GK for a while now and find that its the easiest program available to convert things to avi.

but i have also tried Vitual dub and that thing annoys my to death (I wont even start on Gordian knot )

but I have been given a suggestion by someone to add some filters to my avi's to clean them up a bit , now I know how to do this in Virual dub but is there anyway we can add certain filters to Auto GK ?

I'd like to add the smart deinterlace filter and a another one (cant remember the name of it) and see what the outcome is like
but from what I have seen there isnt a way to add these filters to Auto GK ,
is there a way to do it or is it a complete package that we cant add things to of our own accord ?

P.S Im really new at this (but loving it) and would just like to have the best quality possible.

also in Auto GK is there anyway we can specify the resolution at all instead of it choosing it for us.

(I can hear you all now saying "Just use Virtual dub !!!!!!!!!!" and I would if I understood it :))

anyway I hope someone can answer my questions as it would be a big help otherwise I may just have to try virtual dub and swear alot :)

Using the original Gordian Knot will allow you complete control over filter selection. Doom9 has a very nice guide.

Just curious, why do you think you can get better results then AutoGK if you cant even work VDubMod? Scripting and filters are alot more complex then vdub.

Read more guides, and learn to do it the GordianKnot way and after a time you might be able to do your own filters, but now.. Not wise.
