DVD Rebuilder's Reporter

This is a tool I developed that will make the submission of problems a little easier.
It will get all the possible data about Rebuilder config and will create a report that you can copy to Clipboard and paste it on a forum or automatically send an e-mail to JDOBBS using dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com.
I hope that this will help me fixing some bugs om RME too... maybe this way I can find why some people are getting bitrates differences and the "Working Path Not valid" error :)

this is the first release... it may have bugs.

TODO list:
I'm hoping that I'll be able to introduce a "Diagnostic" routine that will be able to detect automatically, possible config errors.

Feedback is more than welcome.

@SamuriHL. That address has been used many times before in other threads, what's the big deal?

@Rockas. Another great idea, well done on the first release.

That's not the jdobbs e-mail... that's the "technical support" e-mail :D ... just kidding ... but it's true... that e-mail is a public one...

It's just that spam bots tend to scan for addresses that are posted in forums and then spam the hell out of it. Posting it in that format just increases the chance that JDobbs will have to filter through gobs of spam, that's all.

Seriously, at this point, whoever doesn't have a good spam filter deserves the mail they get. :)

I was wondering why that address gets so much SPAM -- especially considering it's specialized and limited usage...

Seriously, at this point, whoever doesn't have a good spam filter deserves the mail they get. :) And from my experiences in sending out DVD-RB versions -- they also deserve the loss of the mail they don't get.

SPAM filters have a long way to go. Would you be willing, as a comparison, to let an anonymous person (who somehow understands your wants and desires) go into the mailbox out in front of your house and decide for you what things to throw away and which to keep? :(

Interesting. I didn't know that.... I was wondering why that address gets so much SPAM -- especially considering it's specialized usage...

A lot of people say to post email addresses like "foo(at)foo.com (replace the (at) with @)" when posting on a forum. I'm not convinced this helps all that much, either, as I think it'd be trivial to adjust an email mining spam bot to scan for that, as well, but, it's certainly better than posting "foo@foo.com" directly. In any case, yes, spam bots are out there trolling forums and usenet for addresses to spam. Companies make a crapload of money selling email address lists to each other for marketing purposes. It rather sucks, IMO.

Define a good spam filter. Spam filters that are aggressive tend to lose mail that you want to keep. Spam filters that aren't agressive enough let through all kinds of crap you have to sort through. Spam filters based on accept or deny lists are often out of date. My "solution" to spam is to have multiple addresses...one that is public that I expect to get spammed on and several that aren't that are only used for business and friends. I have a spam filter on my public one, but, I'm constantly pulling things out of my junk mail folder that I want to keep. Case in point I found the latest DVD-RB change email in my junk mail folder, but the upgrade link email made it through ok. Spam filters aren't perfect...they only help. Now, I'm just a simple user...imagine someone like JDobbs who has a technical support address that already gets possibly hundreds of valid emails that he has to sort through. If he has to deal with spam on top of that, it makes his job harder and causes more delays in getting the valid support questions answered. By not posting the address directly in the forum, it MIGHT help reduce the amount of spam he gets. That's all I was trying to say.
