Hello

Could some one confirm that it is possible to convert videos from x264 to Quicktime 7 (on Mac)? And with what parameters?

My set up is thus:
1) lots of jpg-images from a web cam
2) converted to .yuv on a Linux box (no sound!)
3) converted to h264 video with .mp4 ending with x264 on the same linux box (with all possible parameters and combinations)
4) the result is playable with Quicktime 7 but no image! no errors, time scaler runs on but no picture

Possible problems:
- yuv-material is bad. but the same process works fine with .264 material and Mplayer
- no sound: could it be that the lack of sound track confuses things

I am really thankfull for all help here.

I've had it work before... and I've had it not work before (with the same settings even!) The general concensus around here is that QT is extremely buggy in it's support for H.264 (x264) playback. I am currently trying to find a (main profile) x264 encoding procedure that works consistantly. There are other people on these boards that are trying to do the same as well. I'll let you know if I can find anything.

btw I learned the other day that most every encoder/decoder of H.264 (including x264) uses the yuv color scheme internally anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem. Can anybody vouch for that? (I might be incorrect)
