Help using Ulead Soft. to copy DVD Movies

Hi all,
Wanted to start off by saying that I have been useing Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 for my capturing and DVD creating. There are several things I don't like about it. Was hoping to get some advice on these.
1. Having problems with the counter resetting on my DV Camcorder, thus it screws with my scene by scene capturing. Therefore I have to do a full tape capture. Then, there appears to be no real editing software in there. It has an automatic Chaptering option, but it never gets it right and there is no way to join two scenes.
2. With all that in mind, am I doing things wrong with this software? What is the best software out there for what I am trying to do.
Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

Oh, thanks. I your suggestion is a great help with my problem. However, to satisfy your need to waste our time allow me to elaborate. I am well aware of the forum rules. My post involved several different problems with several different possible answers. Instead of bogging down this forum with each individual question I posted them all with a general title in hops to get an answer to each. So please, if all you're going to do is post a reply that has no reason to be in the thread, do it to someone elses thread.

As for your reply BB, I explained above that due to the broad nature of my topic, I put a generalized title, but you want a change, fine, you've got it.
