View Full Version : How to replace a movie on an authored DVD

Hello,

After I authored several movies to a DVD, I noticed that one movie had a video/audio sync problem. I reencoded that movie thereby solving the sync problem.

My question now is: How can I replace the movie by its new version without touching the other movies?

The simple approach I tried didn't work: I authored this movie on its own, and took the resulting VTS_xx_1.VOB as replacement for the corresponding VOB in the first authored DVD compilation. During burning Nero gave a DVD compatibilty warning which I ignored, but the final DVD didn't play in my standalone player.

Can anybody point me to a solution for this reauthoring issue?

Many thanks

Hi!

You could use DVD Shrink in "Re-author" mode and load all of the desired versions, including the FULL re-authored one...

Thanks for your hint. But how let I DVD Shrink replace the old movie by the new one, i. e. avoid to append? Willl identical VOB filename will do the trick? I've newver worked with DVD Shrink so far.

I believe that my a. m. try wasn't successful because I think I it's not enough just to replace the VOB file, but that I have to modify the associated IFO and/or BUP files, too. How?

I solved it via IFOUpdate. Here my settings:

- Mode --> Adjusted Cell Mode
-Options --> Transfer VTS_C_ADT Table / Copy Color Table In Each PGC /
Adjust VTS_TMAPTI and ADMAP Sizes / AutoCorrect VTS sectors /
AutoAnalyse Origional IFO

Works like a charm and is going to be become one of my standard procedures even in the original authoring process itself (much faster than rebuilding the whole stuff).

Thanks to all.
