Hi all !!

I'm having trouble with this video empty.
As you can see, at the end, (high motion) it's getting worste...
Src file was in Divx format (unknown), now It's a Xvid file + Crop.
I'm using VirtualDub 1.6.11. Deinterlace filter (internal) didn't help.
Is there a way to get a better quality ?

Is this the source video?

If so, this clip is already resized, so you cant deinterlace anymore because field information is destroyed by that. I think this is a lost cause...

The source file is in Divx format 480*576. I don't know if it's coming
from TV or Dvd rip but I've the same problem on the source.

Sounds like your source isn't the original either. Resolution indicates original was likely a PAL SVCD

how can that AVI be the source after capturing?

The interlacing is probably an editing error. You can't get rid of it. it is too bold.

Hi. I don't think this is a lost cause.
Try VDub with those filters:

Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
[ Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4
Vertical Smoother 0.3: stregth 4 ]
Brightness/Cotrast: contrast 125%

This reduces the "interlaced" effect a lot, but reduces contrast too.
Use the last two smoothers if you still want to reduce the "lines" and you don't care about the loss of contrast.

I've processed your sample with all 8 vertical smoothers, saved with latest XviD build @900 kbps and the result is quite good, considered the source.
I don't think you are interested in codec settings so I'm not going to post them here.

I'd say: just leave it as it is. Probably this was a wished 'effect'...

Sure there's a LOT of detail loss, but if his objective is to reduce the lines, I don't see any other way to do that.. :)
