DV playback is slow (?)

I recently put together a new machine, and I transferred some big DV files I had captured from videotape over to my new hard drive. I captured them a few months ago, but I'm quite sure they played just fine at the time.

Now they play back in slo-mo. Go figure. I'm virtually certain I used the Panasonic codec for capturing, and that codec is definitely currently installed (I uninstalled and re-installed just to be sure). GraphEdit shows that Windows' "DV Video Decoder" (qdv.dll) is decoding. I've also tried ffdshow, but it still plays back slow. FOURCC is "dvsd."

Now if I select "increase speed" in Media Player Classic, it seems to suddenly play correctly. I thought that perhaps I had some odd settings in MPC, but it plays back slow by default no matter what player I use.

I can still serve it to an MPG2 encoder via AviSynth and it encodes to MPG2 just fine. But I need to scan through these huge files (about 4 hours' worth) to find edit points and the slow playback is a pain. Besides, I'm just curious why it's happening.

Ya know, after looking at it step by step in GSpot, I'm really thinking it's an audio problem. The video renders fine via the Panasonic codec, but the audio shows up multiple times for some reason.

Thing is, I just remembered that I recently had an audio problem with a video game which would repeat sounds and phrases in a loop every few seconds, sort of sounding like a skipping record. I actually had to call tech support, and they had me disable some drivers.

My sound card is a Chaintech AV-710 (Envy24 driver), which is definitely properly installed, and I definitely have my mobo's onboard sound disabled. But there's obviously a problem remaining somewhere. I'm just not sure where to start looking to fix it.
