Pardon my ignorance in this matter. After I purchase a DVD, I make a backup so when I travel I don’t have to worry about losing or damaging my original discs. I use DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4 and have been very successful with only these two programs. As long as I can shrink a DVD with 60% or better compression, I’m happy.

I recently bought The Godfather II and it comes with 2 discs. The first contains the first 2 hours of the movie and the second contains the remaining 1 hour and 15 minutes.

I know I'm supposed to use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVDs (for 2 disc sets only), then DVD Shrink to re-author so I can get the first part of disc 1 and the second part of disc 2 on 1 ISO file. Then I’ll use DVD Decrypter in the ISO write mode to burn the combined DVDs into a single DVD+R.

Is this possible?

Currently I have ripped disc 1 to a folder (disc 1) and disc 2 to a folder (disc 2). Now what?

Any help is greatly appreciated. :stupid:

You've correctly stated what you have to do, so I'm not sure I understand why you're asking, "Now what?".

Open DVD Shrink. Go into "Re-author" mode. Drag and drop the movie files from Disc 1 and then the ones from Disc 2. Select Use DVD Decrypter to burn as .ISO"...

Be aware that by using "Re-author" mode, you'll lose the active menu (But the chaptering remains intact).

Awesome! I didn't realize you could go right into Re-author mode. I was constantly "Opening Files" and could never get it to work. Thanks for the info. Only problem now is I'm at 36.6% compression, so I'll have to cut the credits or something else. Thanks again... :D
