I am using 1.5.10 (build 18250/release) to open and edit AviSynth Scripts for Vob files. I rip the Vob files using dvd decrypter.

The problem I am having is in the editing process. I setup my deinterlace and brightness/contrast filters so everything looks good in my preview window, but when i create the new avi file, it does not match my output preview. I have opened the new file with three different viewers, and it is always too bright, or without enough contrast. If I freeze the video, and compare it the my output preview, it is noticable lighter.

I have looked through all the options, but I cannot find anything that fixes this. I am having to play a guessing game with my output settings, but it doesn't look right. I have tried different filters, but that doesn't help either.

Any help will be appreciated.

Is it also brighter in VirtualDub? If not, check your video card's overlay settings.

I guess I don't understand the question. Is the output file brighter in VirtalDub? First, I had to install it, and the answer is no.

I do not know what I am supposed to be looking for in my overlay settings.

I suppose this is all academic anyway. I shut down my box the other night, and after a fresh restart, the output file is the right color now.

This brings up an interesting question, but I will start a new thread for it.

Thanks for the response.
