does TMPGEnc author have a problem with DVD Decrypter IFO output?

When I use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to convert from a source DVD (recorded using DVD recorder) to unsplit video and audio source files that TMPGEnc Author will recognise there appears to be no sound, even though I have both files (mpeg and ac3) and TMPGEnc Author does not generate an error message (just no sound is heard when in edit mode, or when playing authored DVD).

I have also tried using ReMPEG2 to output seperate video and audio, which does work, but the sound quality is terrible (introduces static/white noise).

Any ideas?
