what the point of Video Quality Studio?

Video quality and the ultimate best video codec has been the center of controversy over the last few years in the multimedia enthusiast community. However, the assessment of percieved video quality is not a trivial task and although several methods have been developed over the years by video experts, no single method is sufficient for evaluation of video sequences.
Methods for video quality assessment are divided into two categories: a) objective and b) subjective. Objective methods aim to mathematically estimate the impairment introduced to video during compression whilst the Subjective counterparts aid in the compilation and statistical analysis of sample ratings generated by humans. For a more extensive introduction to the topic and some of the metrics, read this white paper.
Video Quality Studio is a framework that supports both the subjective and objective evaluation of video sequences using formal assessment methods developed by large bodies like the MPEG and other research groups.
