in cce 2.7 - picture quality - field "detailed setting" its possible to adjust the pictures frequencies. as it was done with vhs-copy-amplifiers i think it might be a good thing to compensate transcoding loss a bit. i watch my videos on tv, so its no difference if ringing etc is amplified, my tv wont show, but i love to have brighter details. am i right thinking that a mpeg2 file with amplified high frequencies could also compensate the loss of a dvd player with a lowpass filter that filters too much of higher frequencies?
what i would like to know: is cce filtering like shown in the graph or does it rely upon the values shown beneath the sliders (i dont understand why there are four of them and what exactly every one does, but using them i can build a nice graph, ie everything normal till 3,7mhz, then amplification).so is it safe to just rely on the graph or could the graph show a nice setting but the real setting is rubbish? the values of the two frequency sliders are strange, they reach from 0 to 100 and 10 to 20 ? thx!
