I have a copy of mindhunters i would like to back up onto hard drive. I will usually then convert to Xvid/DivX using auto gordian knot. I have tried dropping to hard drive but it won't process. I have an up to date version of Decrypter. :confused: Is there extra security on these discs that won't allow you to back up or am I just unfortunate. The disc is bronze in colour and I've had this problem before. Any answers?????
Cheers PAV.

@Pav

This thread will probably be moved to the "decrypting" section, but in the meantime;
When you say it won't process, what's it doing? Are there any error messages springing up on you? -- and if so, what do they say? What region of disk is it, and what other disk(s) did you have similiar problems on?

@bigotti5

Hi!
ARccOS Copy protection by Sony
That may or may NOT be the case with "MindHunters", depending upon the Region.

The Region 1 DVD, which is NOT published by SONY, does not have ARccOS copy protection, while the Region2 version (and one or two others, if I remember correctly), published by SONY, DOES have ARccOS copy protection ;>}

The disc - Mindhunters is region2 and produced by Sony. I've read the thread suggested on the bad sector issue. Thanks. Will let you know how i get on, if I get on. :D

@Pav

Or, if you'd rather simply use another "one click" decrypter that's regularly updated and free:

http://www.dvdidle.net/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe

It should handle what you're trying to back up. It's kind of like DVD Decrypter (I think we're all still hurting over that fine program's development shut-down), except that your only choice is to rip the entire disk to your hard drive... but that's the recommended method, anyway.
