I have burnt a video DVD-R which I can't play on a pc but it works fine on a set top player. I tried burning the same content on a DVD-RW which in this case, everything is fine. I had used the same media before and did not have any problems. Can someone helps me please?

Probably your using the same brand of media but from different manufacturer.
Try burning at a lower speed or upgrading your drive firmware.

The media is of the same spindle and burning at 1x. The media I am using is RiDisc 8x. Anyone had any problems with this brand?

Thanks for the link.
I use Nero CD/DVD Speed to test DVD, however I can't test it as DVD is recognised as empty on pc.

Sorry I should have been more clear - vso inspector tests the surface and the files for readability of a burned DVD - can you burn at 2x or 4x? Prehaps 1x is too slow for that media.

Will try vso inspector.
Speed too slow? This is new for me. I thought using high speeds increase readability risks.

Hey King:
It kind of sounds like the problem I had. My discs worked everywhere except the drive it was recorded on. All my drive needed was a lens cleaner. It goes for like $10 at FYE. Hope this helps you.

BTW give my regards to Abigail and give grandma a cup of tea.
