recording from Sky satellite

Now some advice

what should I get..? money ..space and untidy wiring all being factors

I am going to get Sat _tv.... (sky (++spit++)

I want to be able to record programs without getting a Sky plus box

I cant decide between getting an analogue capture card for my PC and capturing on that

getting a basic dvd recorder (and editing on PC)

getting a more expensive DVD recorder with divx playback

above plus hard disk, simply because some programs are more than two hours long, and you can record in top quality for more than 1 hour..

I already have a Yamada 6100 player which doesnt like some xvid encodes

Pros and cons? or any other suggestions

sky+ = one off payment of £49 ^^ but i would get a PVR 300 , pretty good for a buck :) i tihkn they are around £100 last tiem i looked ( a few years ago)
