Does anyone know if this is possible? If so Good or bad thing?

So printer companies have been putting tracking codes on everything printed with there color lasers. Something you don't see unless you know where and how to look. Can it be done for video distribution, make every copy downloaded traceable to the one person who downloaded it? If so, should it be done?

What I'm wondering is if a distrubution method could add them on the fly, and give each individual downloader there own. maybe give content providers options between giving away content and locking it down.
