Video Dude,

as you will see from, e.g., this thread

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=77696&page=3

there is something much more involved going on with the Sony "layer break" playback problem than just adjusting the break cell's Seamless Playback bit

for one thing, the SCR is usually reset at that point and therefore discontinuous (DISC=yes), but I don't believe jdobbs is attempting to change any of the clocking (SCR values) in the subsequent packets, so pretending they're seamless when they're not won't work (at least with the Sony, which seems to pay a lot more attention to SCR than many other players) - it's as if it suddenly comes across a totally unexpected value and gets totally lost

I might spend some time next weekend playing around with it to see what can be done, but I have no sophisticated in-depth knowledge of mpeg2 or DVD structures/internals

mpucoder might know a lot more about this, I dunno if he's knocking around anywhere and able to comment? it certainly seems that on a muxman remuxed build, all of the packets have been reassembled with a brand new SCR sequence which is continuously increasing throughout the duration

fyi, I tried the usual trick of preprocessing with Shrink to remove the LB before using RB, but it didn't actually work with this disc... (I was shocked too)

@jdobbs

I didn't use Shrink in any of the tests I discussed with you in detail - I know how it may distort your analysis, so I wouldn't use it when reporting any issues related to RB!

I merely tried it "offline" as I know how it has cured the LB for me in the past... but it wasn't to be with this baby...
