I am having a problem with my audio getting out of synch using TMPGEnc DVD Author.

The source files are Xvid's which I have converted to VOB's using WinAvi. I then load them into TMPGEnc DVD Author, edit the files (trim start and endings), make my menu and save the project. Burn is done with DVD shrink.

I have gone back and examined each stage of the file . The source is good, the converted to VOB is good, but when the project is made using TMPGEnc DVD Author the error occurs.

The audio is fine until a point where there is a section of pixalation and choppy image, thereafter the audio lags behind the action.

I have gone back and reconverted from Xvid and burned again, still error.
I next tried burning with out editing thinking that might be the reason why the audio was getting off, still error.

Any suggestions on what I can do or why this is happening??????

Hi!

where there is a section of pixalation and choppy image

If this piece is not very significant, cut it out from the XviD, save with a new name and then process with "TMPGEnc DVD Author"...

The choppy piece isn't in the source or converted VOB, it is introduced when the project is authored in TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Is there some setting I am missing that could be causing it?

it is introduced when the project is authored in TMPGEnc DVD Author.

That's hard to believe. Have you scanned the XviD file for bad frames?

After further examination the pixalization is in the converted VOB file but the audio is still synched after the bad frames. When it is authored in TMPGEnc DVD Author after the bad frames the audio becomes out of synch.

Is there any error correction setting or something along those lines, I would prefer to keep the video intact if possible.

Thanks for all the responses btw.

Instead of using WinAVI, try the following:

Use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this...
