I know that it is possible to convert a 5.1 AC3 soundtrack to six mono WAV files using BeSweet. I also have tried using Hypercube with AC3filter, but that was very slow. An attempt was made to use Hypercube with iviaudio.ax but that did not work. Besides, the version of iviaudio.ax that I was using appeared to only be capable stereo output.
Are there any other methods to split 5.1 AC3 into six mono WAV files that I have missed? It does not have to be free. In fact, I can't say there is anything wrong with BeSweet, but I would like something to compare it to.

use something to decode ac3 to multichannel wav (e.g. foobar2000 etc...) and then separate into 6 mono wavs with tranzcode

But Besweet should be the fastest method.

I would suggest WaveWizard instead of tranzcode, itīs much easier, simply dragīnīdrop your 6WAV and chose your output format (f.e. single WAV-files) :D

Hi
Nuendo with the dolby digital plugin will convert an AC3 file
to six waves, very professional piece of software.
Having said that I have both and still use besweet to
do the job as it corrects any errors in the process and the
resulting waves are of equal quality.

Why would you want to look for something else when you have Besweet to do the job, quick fast and excellent.

It looks like my question has been answered. There is probably no better way to do it than BeSweet. It is quite fast as the process takes only a bit longer than it would take to write that much data to my hard drive.
