remote controller with a software player on notebook

Hi,
I am using bsplayer for all kind of video playing and i am very satisfied.
My question is: I want to use my notebook to play the videos on TV but
I also want to use a remote controller.Do you know any solution to
it with a specific remote controller-receiver or another software that
supports remote controllers etc. I know,I am asking something that
Windows Media Center does but I do not want to buy it.

I started an open-source project called EventGhost for remote control of Media-PCs. Actually it's meant to control everything with a remote or other unusual input device (like joypads). Currently it only supports a small set of IR-receivers but more will come, if the demand arises.

Many might know "Girder" for this purpose. EventGhost works in the same field.

One of the best players that can be controlled with a remote is "Zoom Player", but every other player that can be controlled with the keyboard should work also.
