can u help me on this, i am a newbee with cee sp 2.7.

have a div x movie on my HD, want convert to dvd then ad sub and chapters.

what setting must i use with CEE, multipass?constant?

23,, 25,29 fps?

2:3 pulldown.

I have to convert it, cuz my player does not accept div xmovie.

can i ad 2-3 movies like this on a dvd 4.7?

i dont like svcd and vcd, cuz there is no chapter, right?
encoding time is not a factor for me.

any suggestion, thanks so much for your help.......this site is great!

Presume you mean CCE and not CEE?

Check out DIKO at http://www.vmesquita.com/

You can use CCE as the encoder or the Authors own encoder FreeEnc does a pretty good job although slower than CCE

You can add chapters and menus and i have put 2 movies on to one DVD-5 and the quality is still pretty good

Pay them a visit and read all the guides will soon have you up and running

Check out DVD2SVCD, in AVI->DVD mode it's good for this, it can use CCE or other encoders/transcoders.

There should be a folder called Author with the VIDEIO_TS folder under it off your specified working directory

So in your case C:\Program Files\DIKO\Temp or if you selected create image in your config there should be a disc.iso in your working folder (but the VIDEO_TS will still be created)

can u help me on this, i am a newbee with cee sp 2.7.

have a div x movie on my HD, want convert to dvd then ad sub and chapters.

this is what i would do.
1- convert the divx file to dvd(vob) with Quenc(free and awesome quality)
2-i would demultiplex the vobs with vobedit(free) to elememtary audio and video streams
2-convert your subs(srt) to ssa format with subtitle workshop(free)
4- open a text file with notepad and writte the times of the chapters you want.
3-use muxman(free) to load the elementary audio and video created by vobedit into muxman, load the subs and the chapters text as well and author

I know it doesnt envolve CCE,but this is what i would do

when using Quenc make sure to select the audio format you want in the final vob(options) also Quenc loads the avi(divx) direct no need for avisynth scripts

I know diko and similar programs are a one in all tool, but do you want to be a newbie forever and not understanding how to do it?

While I do agree with you Ricardo one step at a time let him use DIKO or any other 1 click options, set a few parameters and away you go, is all very well saying use this and use that but he may have no idea of what settings to use etc.

DIKO is an ideal starting block until he gets to know more

hi again,

ok, I tried to open my CCE window to do it m"anuall"y, and drag/drop my div.x-avi movi movie.

I set some parameters like svd, whatever, and now I have an error telling me"AVI source could not loctae a decompressor for four cc DIV3"

what is that?any idea???

I tried diko with Quenc, same errror.

I know how to reauthor DVD movies and add sub "manually",but this is the second day I use divx....div x is totally new for me!i dont use it because as I have a beamer at home, I prefer dvd quality, but i am giving a try with div x.
and can be a nice way for my laptop when travelling.

I know how to reauthor DVD movies and add sub "manually".

since you already know how to reauthor dvds my advice would be to use quenc on its own to convert it to dvd and author the dvd like you woukd reauthor a dvd, because after the avi is on the dvd format the steps are basically the same

Good luck

my cee is working when typing this,

when decompressing from div x to dvd, do i return back to the original with same quality, or close of the original???.

my file will overshoot 5 gig.(now i ahve to compress back to 4 gig, !!!!)
so what s the advantage to go for a big file, instead of a vcd file at 1.5 gig, so i can maybe put 2 movies on a dvd.

here in europe, 700meg cd are expensive, half pric of a dvd, so the best for me would be to place my div x movie on a dvd.

what do you think???and what setting should i use, 5 pass or 1 pass. i want best quality , time is not a factor.

edit: got crap aain with cce sp.the file is not working at all.
kito again for 2200 meg , the software is working correctly.
will post result....

...have a div x movie on my HD, want convert to dvd then ad sub and chapters.

The easiest way would be to pull out your original disc that you ripped to DivX and do a backup with it. If you don't have the original, read up on Doom9's Fair Use Policy (http://www.doom9.org/disclaimer.htm).

It's contrary to our Forum Rules to bring issues here on invalid backups, or to issue help on such problems.
