what does DVD-+r mean. that is not the way i wanted to type it, the symbol is a + untop of a _

[CWR03]

It's a combined symbol meaning the burner can use both +R and -R media.

You can also help yourself out a bunch by searching the archive for members that have confronted your circumstances; here in Newbies we hardly ever see an issue that hasn't already been solved, but that's what Noobs is for: to get you up and running and teach you how to access the forum's tools, and for that matter, the entire range of tools you have at your fingertips when you log on to the Internet.
