I see that after years without an update, there is finally an updated version of VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889),
version 1.5.10.2, released 8/29/2005.
The version of Vdubmod that is installed with AutoGk 2.20, however is older-1.5.4.1.
Can one install the newer version to the same folder that 1.5.4.1 is installed to (...\Autogk\Vdubmod), overwriting the older version? Would one get good results from AutoGK that way, or is the newer vdubmod not compatible with AutoGK?
Or--can one install the newer vdubmod to a different folder, not a subfolder of AutoGK (leaving the older version in that subfolder, in case of problems with the newer one), and use the newer Vdubmod with AutoGK, from the new installation folder? (In other words, is there a way to specify in AutoGK the location of the helper programs, to not necessarily use the default locations?)
Similarly with the other helper programs. For instance, I see there is an Avisynth version 2.56 now, while the version that comes with AutoGK is 2.55. Can one use 2.56 with AutoGK? The version of DGIndex that comes with AutoGK is 1.4.1b3, while there is a version 1.46b1 available now. OK to use the newer version?
I don't know if there are newer versions of Xvid and Vobsub. Of course, with time, if there are no newer versions of AutoGK, yet these other programs continue development, there will continue to be new versions of the helper programs, and one will wonder if the newer versions can be used with AutoGK.
I would appreciate getting input into this question. Thank you.
