ffdshow won't decode H.264

I got this .mp4 trailer (SD, not HD) that plays well with Quicktime 7 but it won't play with ffdshow in Media Player Classic. Do I maybe need a newer version of ffdshow than the October 12th 2004 version from Sourceforge?

free-codecs simply have the newest build they can find. If my build is the latest available then it will be my build. My last build was the 13th though. Other builds should be fine, however I have seen reports that some are slower.

I installed the latest build of ffdshow as of 18/10/2005. But I cant play H264 mpg files. I used mainconcept encoder with baseline profile and AAC audio for encoding. I ffdshow, both H264 and AAC setting are enabled. Still it doesnt work.

Any idea?

When I set the audio to MPEG Layer 2, it works perfect. Problem is when audio is AAC. May be I must use a proper audio decoder for AAC.

Make sure you have Haali Splitter (now called Matroska) installed and that should do it

Use ffdshow audio for AAC using "libfaac2".
