Hi Chaps,
I have been using dvd2svcd for a good while now with no problems until about 2 months back (never changed anything on my pc)- A short time after video encoding finishes (tmpg Enc) the program stops with a 'unable to write to avisynth.ini file' the only way to get dvd2svcd to work again was to format hdd and reinstall xp pro only for problem to recur soon after.
I downloaded latest version and now get same error report before tmpg enc even starts.
Also notice the output dvd file does not have chapters even though the create every 120 seconds is ticked, don't know if this is relevant?

I am converting avi to dvd and the same problem occurs when converting mp3 audio or keeping avi's ac3 audio.
Can anyone please help me-I need to get my favourite program functioning properly again-this is a brilliant program, always in sync and good pics and audio!!
Kind Regards Dave

OK. First thing to rule out is PC-cillin antivirus.
It has been known to cause this error.
If you are running PC-cillin, disconnect any internet or network connections then disable PC-cillin before converting.

I've seen the error reported before, so maybe a search on "unable write avisynth" might turn something up.

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for the response-I have posted a log file here so please take a look for me.
I am using NOD32 antivirus-is this known to cause problems?
Will disable and try again later when not on the net.
The new version of dvd2scvd gives this error report before tmpg encoding starts but with the earlier version of dvd2svcd it crashed soon after video encoding-This fact may be of relevance?
Thanks again for any info.
Cheers Clanser
