Xvid Playback On DivX Standalone

Some Xvids on playback will not give me the option to go to a specific time in the film through the Go To button on the remote control, which means if i watch half a film one night i have to start from the beginning again the next night which is quite frustrating. Some Xvids do allow me to do this however. Is there a way of identifying which ones will and which ones won't before i burn them to disc and perhaps a way of running those that won't through a process that will enable me to do this? Thanks in adavnce.

Check your files with MPEG4 Modifier, it may give you an idea of how your films was encoded, the problem could be related to Packed Bitstream.

Could also be the way that it was muxed, if so remuxing using AVIMuxGUI and a standalone profile (AC3/mp3) should sort it.
