difficulties to get the precise size target...

These are the settings that gave me the most accurate filesize.
While still missing the target size.
I tried only on a sample of only 22 seconds and on another of 12 minutes; with a video 704x576 at 1000 kbps it was oversized by 176 kbps.
At 800 kbps (a low bitrate for such resolution) it was undersized by 40 kbps.

I two pass encodings for each test.
I used the last "stable" version from Koepi's website:
XviD-1.0.3-20122004 _Final Release_

XviD seems to have difficulties to get the precise size target...

you shouldn't use that.....

set it like that and xvid willd ecide what's best. you won't miss the target. also don't limit your quants like that. you should use

2 for low and 31 for high on all of them.

should be 1 and 20 ..


basically I think you need to hit the "load defaults" button. your trying way too hard. Try this and report back on your results. I'm sure it'll hit the correct target.
