View Full Version : Nero 7 does not work with Besweet

Heya.
I am having trouble getting Besweet to run with the Nero runtime files. I have copied both Aac.dll (2.5.9.994) and aacenc32.dll (4.2.0.27) to Besweet's dir and still no luck. I have even copied NeroIIP.dll , but that didnt help either. I am using the latest beta of Besweet and BesweetGUI posted in besweet's mainpage. When I run Besweet in command prompt, I get "[0:00:000] Initialising..." before it quits.
Any idea of whats wrong? :s
Thread temporarily stickied until nero 7 issues are resolved. Do not open any threads about issues with bsn and Nero 7! If you do they will be locked. There is currently no known solution to use bsn with nero 7.

You are probably not using BeSweet v1.5b31...
Check your version.

besweet/belight does not supports nero 7 aac dll's yet, wait for a besweet update! there is nothing wrong with your setup!

I stickied this thread until nero 7 issues are resolved, to keep down the number of threads on this subject once the download version hits. There doesn't seem to be any working solution at the moment for encoding through besweet with nero 7.

Aha! And I was searching throughout this forum wondering where did this thread disappear ;)
Thanks for the reply though. Guess we have to wait then :)

WARNING
Seems like there are wrong channel mapping in 5.1 encoding! (There are significant audio fluctuations). Can anybody check it too?
There are 3 variants:
Wait until Nero fix the problem
OR Ask DSPGuru to change channel order for bsn
OR Write tiny wrapper around original bsn.dll and change channel mapping in it (i can write such wrapper for -dimzon switch but i need information which channel mapping reqied for Nero7)

You need MFC71.dll in the same directory or \Windows\System\, there may be others but that's one I uncovered.

does -6chnew produce C FR FL SR SL LFE ?-6chnew outputs the only channel mapping allowed in the aac specs for 5.1 (when being fed with the right input, eg ac3)
and that is C, L, R, SL, SR, LFE

So the new dimzon plugin is not necessary for "-6chnew"? Everything okay with the Nero DLLīs?

Unfortunately I don't see the difference when using HE though. In fact it's just the opposite bitrate and file size increase compared to the older v6 series.

FYI their channel mapping in 5.1 AAC in recode was already incorrect when opening an .avs file (ie broken in Nero 6). I had already previously discussed this with whatsisname and they had acknowledged the bug.

dunno what avisynth does
It should give the ordening L, R, C, LFE, SL, SR (WAVE-EX). More precisely any audio plugin (MPASource, NicAudio) is expected to decode the audio and return it using the ordening above. AviSynth itself won't change the ordening.

but in besweet it was correct?
Dunno about BeSweet, I could never make it encode using AAC (I find that program notoriously difficult to use, and I never know exactly what it's doing.
Using recode to encode 5.1 avis and AC3 used correct mapping.
I also used SoundTrax and the Nero ROM "Encode Audio" thing to encode a "Left, Right, Centre..." wav, and they map fine. May be different with a WAV through AVS.
FYI, the AVS would play correctly mapped by itself, nero would switch the channel mapping.

Hey, I recommended your drivers to someone else, and they had this problem:
The plugin seems to work pretty well, but I've come across some strange file name errors. I'm trying to encode an AAC that can be muxed with MP4Box into an mp4 (along with a x264 video track) and then be played with Quicktime. (-aacprofile_lc -exportaac both seem to be required to work with Quicktime.)
.acc output specified = do nothing
.mp4 output specified = .aac output with .acc extension
no extension specified = .aac output in an mp4 with no extension

Thanks for the help!
Edit: I hate XP! For easier reinstalling of this +"!#&@ OS, I install it to a smaller partition, and the bigger one is for my stuff (videos, music, utils...). That's why I changed my program files dir in the registry to d:\program files. And.... changing it back to c:\program files... Voila, the transcoding works.
The only thing bothers me, is that with the old Nero/bsn this wasn't an issue for me...
