View Full Version : DVD Decrypt & dual layer Nero burn, how?

Hi all.

I have never made a dual layer burn and would like to try a few, but before I make expensive coasters at around $10 a pop, I think I should ask a few questions.

Seeing that it will be a dual layer, I may as well leave all the fruit in that comes with the original DVD.

I understand to leave all the fruit in I have to tick the default in one of the panels within DVD Decrypt to "all". That is where my understanding runs out.

In the tool bar, what is it that I have to select? Do I click 'File F", or is it one one the ISO options? I really do not know.

When all options have been set up and the movie has been decrypted to my hard drive, how do I get Nero 6 to start the Burn off?

I hope that I have asked all the correct questions, as I really do not know.

If I have missed out questions or bits will you please add them into you answer in the order of sequence.

Regards and thanks in advance.

If you're making a 1:1 copy of the DVD, you can do it all entirely within DVD Decrypter. Just use ISO mode and copy it, then burn it back. When you click Mode > ISO, it'll be clear what to do. I'd suggest not using MAX burn speed if you want to avoid burning coasters - most dual-layers are safe at 4X. You might also search your title to see if it's ARccOS-encrypted before you start.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Now for the next question, what is ARccOS. What do I need to do to over come the problem if that is a problem?

Then, how do I get Nero to pick up the ball and start burning?

Like I said, I am totally new to DVD Decrypt and Dual Layer burning.

Regards :D

As I said, DVD Decrypter is an all-inclusive program for 1:1 copies. Had you tried what I said above, you'd understand that you don't need Nero at all.

Typically you'll have decryption errors with an ARccOS disk - a few titles have been named here, though I don't think it would be a good idea for this forum to become a searchable database for this, or it may become a target for movie studios.

Hi CWR03

I will give your suggestion a go when I buy my dual layers next week.

I take your point on the rest of your explaination.

Regards.

From reading the many postings (at this and other forums) regarding DL burnable media, I'd suggest that you purchase Verbatim DL DVD+R media - if your burner is capable of burning +R media...

Hi there all.

Yep, my burner handles modes of single and dual layers.

It is an LG, HL-DVDRAM GSA-4120B

Best Buy in USA has Memorex dual layers for $2.00/ea. this week; so I am jumping in as well. Will report back how they work.
