View Full Version : "Error 84" When Encoding AAC with BeLight

I would just like to start by saying that this site has been very useful and I congratulate all of you for the hard work. Most of my troubleshooting is solved by browsing this forum and it's been a big help so far, until now.

I just downloaded the new BeSweet 1.5b31 and BeLight 0.2.2b8. I can encode pretty much any file to ac3/mp3/ogg/mp2... whatever. It works, just not with AAC. I copied my Nero Digital files over to the besweet/belight directory and whenever I run a preset for ND AAC I get this error message:

BeSweet.exe -core( -input F:\NeroTemp\temp_audio.wav -output F:\NeroTemp\temp_audio.mp4 -logfile F:\NeroTemp\temp_audio.log ) -bsn( -2ch -cbr 64 -codecquality_high -aacprofile_he ) -ota( -g max )

I know this is probably an easy one for some of you, but I'm stumped and I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right, except it's not working so maybe I'm doing something wrong :confused:. The only problem that I can think of would be that I recently upgraded to Nero 7. Here are the version #'s of the dlls:

Aac.dll = 2.5.9.994
aacenc32.dll = 4.2.0.27

That's the problem...:) Use Nero 6.xxxx libraries instead.

Hey, guys!

Actually the problem exists with Nero 6 DLLs as well.

BeSweet 1.5b31
BeLight 0.22b8
DLLs from Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.8:
- aac.dll 2.5.9.99
- aacenc32.dll 3.0.0.4

I did some further testing and found out this much:
When using bsn.dll from the BeLight 0.22 beta 8 package, encoding to AAC using Nero is not possible (see log below). However the -dimzon() options work. When using bsn.dll from the BeSweet 1.5b31 package Nero is working as well as -dimzon().
Actually the two bsn.dll files are quite different in size: Belight's is 221 KB while BeSweet's is only 53 KB.

kurtnoise, I'd appreciate it if you could have another look at this.

Btw, I did not install Nero 7 and went back to Nero 6 afterwards.

Hi,

Actually the two bsn.dll files are quite different in size: Belight's is 221 KB while BeSweet's is only 53 KB.
It's not the same code and not the same compiler I guess. That's why you have probably these different sizes. Dimzon has added some functions in the E-Male's bsn.

Concerning your problem, I really don't know why. :confused: I tested E-Male's bsn and Dimzon's bsn and I've no problem with the last BeSweet and your command line :

I've also got the 'Error 84: error configuring bsn!' problem.

Has it been resolved yet? Assuming it hasn't (it seems not to have been), what alternatives to besweet+belite are there that work for encoding wav to aac?

Did you check the BeSweet FAQ ?

Did you check the BeSweet FAQ ?

Thanks for the reply.

I hadn't checked the FAQ - but I have now!

I've got all the needed libs in the besweet/belite folder (including bsn.dll) and still have the problem.

I'm using:

BeSweet 1.4
BeLite 0.21

The libs from Nero 7:
aac.dll 2.5.9.994
aacenc32.dll 4.2.0.27
mfc71.dll 7.10.3077.0 (I've also copied this file to the system32 directory)
