I am an idiot and uninstalled alcohol or possibly daemon tools with an image mounted, and now I have a virtual drive there all the time and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Any ideas where to start?

I tried uninstalling the "hardware" in the "device manager" with no luch. I deleted a bunch of registry entries with no luck. what do I do?? After I installed the new alcohol it says there's no virtual drives but it's still there!

What's your operating system? First, if you made a backup of your registry before you "deleted a bunch of registry entries," perhaps you should restore it. Assuming you're running XP, right-click My Computer and select Manage. Select Device Manager and expand (single-click the plus sign next to) CD/DVD-ROM Devices. Right-click the device that should not be there and select Uninstall. If you are unsure which is correct, and you have only your connected hardware and the virtual drive, you can safely remove them all. Click Action > Scan for hardware changes, and check to see if the device is gone.

I have tried that. When I uninstall it, the virtual device indeed goes away, but after either a reboot or scannig for hardware changes, it reinstalls it automatically.

I appreciate the reply. Any other suggestions?
