this morning this guy on this forum has been helping me with this mpeg problem,i have got this mpeg2 file and wich to put onto dvd if possable these
are the things what i have got, dgindex and muxman and i have learnt to work both of them but every time i start i keep getting this error message, the first
thing i do is start dgindex then put my file into the window then click yes
then click on file and select save prodject and demux video after a while you should get a collection of streams, but the ones you need are the video(m2v)
stream and the audio(mpa or ac3)stream close down the dgindex

now start the muxman and seperatley load the video and audio into the right
places then select destinations folder then press start, then after awhile you should get a collection of dvb vob ifo and bup files, these are what i have been doing but this afternoon i tried to do one more and got this error message which says warning opening gop is not closed the first few frames may not be decoded correctley and i get this message every time i go into
muxman, hope this better sorry for any bad messages

First, your title violates forum rule 9. Please fix it.

i start using dgindexer first and all is fine and then i use demux What do you mean by "then I use demux"? Are you talking about Muxman error messages?

If you have demuxed the video using DGIndex and then fed it into Muxman and get errors about the GOPs being too long, then you have to re-encode the MPEG2 to be DVD compliant.

Can you please describe your complete process in as much detail as possible?

what im trying to do is convert mpeg2 file into somthing that i can put onto dvd,the tools that i have, demuxed and dgindex, now the first thing that i do is
open dgindex and drag and drop the file into window and click next and waite
then select save prodject and de_mux video, after another while you should get a collection of streams ,but the ones you need are the video (m2v)
stream and the audio (mpa or ac3)stream closs down dgindex
then fire up muxman and seperate into right places like i do and then press
start, after another while you should end up with a collection of familiar looking dvb vob ifo and bup files, the green bar should go streat to the end
but stoped half way and this message comes up,
largest gop 42 fields exceeds dvd specifiactions off 30 resulting dvd is
none standard multiplex halted, that the first message now the second
multiplex operations failed.gop contains more than 36pictures at 994507316
and 13.demuxed.m2v hope this helps

The first thing to do is to fix your thread title as I asked you do to. Edit your first post and enter a proper thread title in the title box.

The warning from DGIndex about the opening GOP is harmless; you can ignore it.

Your MPEG2 has a GOP structure that is not DVD compliant. You have to decode the video and then re-encode it to DVD compliant MPEG2. It is outside the scope of this forum, and since these are really basic questions, I am moving this thread to Newbies.
