Hi. I am following the Big3 Guide and this is what just happened. Everything went well, there were no errors, SceneAid opened Scenarist, it reauthored the Assets, Scenarist closed and SceneAid said "Process Complete". I closed SceneAid, launched BatchIFOUpdate and guess what? There is nothing in the xxx\0\ directory!! That is, there are no files where the final processed files are supposed to be. Did I close SceneAid too early? Am I supposed to wait until SceneAid closes itself (if it actually does that)? What did I do wrong? Please help.

Scenaid does not close itself. If it says complete it is. Now just to be sure it WAS scenaid that opened Scenarist and not NuMenu? If indeed it was Scenarist then this is the first time I have heard this happen. If you double click the SCN file in the working dir/scenaid directory, then in Layout Editor th exact paths will have been written (just to verify of course)

Nope. This was SceneAid. This was at the end of the entire process. I think NuMenu opens Scenarist before the encoding (I dunno, I may be wrong). I was so pissed off when this happened that I deleted the entire folder and am starting off again. Can you believe it? I have tried to rip three DVDs eleven times and the process worked only once? I have eight DVDs in total to rip and I dunno how many days this will take. This is the last time I am gonna try using the Big3, but I hope everything goes well this time. I dunno what to do if it fails again. Tired...need to go to bed. Thanks for the help Zeul.

Okay. Things are getting stranger and stranger. I have just finished trying to rip a DVD. SceneAid launched Scenarist, it compiled, Scenarist shut itself down and SceneAid still says "Launching Scenarist". My computer is not hung or anything, it is still working, but there is nothing in the xxx\0\VIDEO_TS directory. Should I still go ahead and risk opening another scenarist window and see what's happening or should I wait for Sceneaid to realize everything is done. Please help. I have spent a lot of time on this and have nothing to show in return. Please help.

Update: SceneAid just said it was unable to close Scenarist and asked me to close it manually. I did. SceneAid said "process complete" and I closed it. I checked the free space in the partition. It has about 6 GB free. Now, I am trying to manually open scenarist and re-author the project. Scenarist is doing its thing, but I still don't see any files being created in the xxx\0\VIDEO_TS folder. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks.

AH
I think your problem is you're free space (6GB). Scenarist will multiplex each track first and then create the disc aswell, so the free space MUST be at least 9GB. You will probably find that in the /mux dir there are lots of vob files.

Thanks Zeul. I will free up more space and try again. I will post here again if something doesn't work. I will post here again even if everything works well. Please keep an eye on this thread and help me. Thanks again.

Sorry Zeul. It wasn't the space. This time, scenarist had about 15 GB to work with, but still I have the same result. No muxed files!! What do I do?

Update: I get the following error in Scenarist when I manually try to author the disc by importing the scenaid created .scn file:

Error: Access violation at 0x0040F7E8 (Tried to write to 0x08C10FEC) Program Terminated

PS: This time, I have the re-encoded files on my hard disk. I didn't delete them out of frustration. If there is something you want me to check, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi guys. I am using Scenarist 3.0. It never worked. I am sorry but I don't have the files anymore. I deleted them all. I got so frustrated that I decided to do the other important things with my time and try this again later. Zeul, I will send you the scp file the next time I try this again (maybe in a couple of days). Until then, have fun and thanks for the help.

I also had strange access violations on very few occasions. Using an other dir helped in thoses cases, but i was never able to get the cause of this.

So has anyone actually figured out what the problem was here because this seems to be the exact error that I am now getting.
