is this common or is only my dvd-player causing problems with DVD-R burned with multi-session?
i have no problems with multisession CD-R but today i tried a DVD-R and only the files burned during the first session were shown, all other sessions were not displayed.
my player is a cyberhome CH-DVD 465.
maybe someone could test out with his own gear if multisession DVDs work.

thanks!

I have a Waitec Vision HTX, and it happens the same.
I don't know if it's normal, but i'm not really interested in it, just wait to have enough stuff.. ;)

@oluv

Hi!

If I remember correctly, burning "multi-session" DVDs is an absolute no-no and the results are ALWAYS what you've seen - only the first session is recognized...

ok, thanks guys!
from now on i will avoid multisession dvds. i didn't assume that it would cause problems. but 4gb is quite a lot of space to fill... ;-)

get a DVDRW that way you can close the session and wipe it when needed.

Try DVD+R instead of DVD-R.

- multi-session DVD+R is more compatible with DVD drives
- multi-session DVD+R has smaller gap size between sessions

For example, if you have burned 10 sessions on a DVD-R disc, you have already lost 258MB of space for those gaps. This is 5% of the whole 4.3GB. But if you are using DVD+R disc, you have lost only 18MB.

I haven't had any luck with multisession, either with Nero or RecordNow. My advice is to wait until you have enough for a DVD, then burn once and be done with it.

You can either use DVD rewritable (as someone has already suggested) or just a plain old DVD.

Multisession is an accident waiting to happen to your DVD.

Yeah, in the manuals for DVD players they usually don't recommend multi-session discs in general, though CDs are usually OK in my experience.
