Hi, I just bought the full boxed version of Nero7 Premium here in Germany and can confirm what PC-Magazin said in there 11/05 issue: Export from SoundTrax to the new Dolby 5.1 AC3 ENCODER has been forgotten !!
5.1 Ac3 is working when exporting from NeroVision although there is absoulutly no control over the conversion there.
I Wonder when they'll fix it - damm !

Cheers

Hello maa, :)

Excuse me, I didn’t understand well.
- Which is new coder AC3 5.1?
- It is strange, when I insert a track AC3 in "SoundTrax ", I don’t have a problem.
I even manage to configure the parameters of the "Master " to listen to it in stereo, DD 5.1 or 7.1.

With less than you doesn’t speak about other thing.

You can clarify please.

Ok,

1. add 6 wave files to create a 5.1 mix.
2. When ready to export, in the export dialog you have the choices of AAC AIF WAV etc. but no AC3
3. I exported to 6 channel Wave but NeroVision refused to Mux the file to 5.1 AC3 with a DVD compliant mpv.

cheers

Maa, I still don’t understand your problem.

- I achieved a file 5.1 ac3 with mono 6wav (FL/FR/C/LFE/SL/SR). All has to function perfectly.( Opening of " Nero SoundTrax ", choice 5.1 discrete, insertion of the 6 mono files multitrack (FL/FR/C/LFE/SL/SR) and,
- I have to safeguard it under .npf project to check that it functions: nothing to signal.

I achieved a slide show minidvd with the file ac3. All functioned correctly.
I don’t know where is the problem.

Have you tried to multiplex with TmpegEnc. That will allow you to check your video (mpv) and your file ac3.

Give me more indicatio on your step.
Thank you.

In my opinion there might be two things happened:
a. Nero missed this support of AC3 in Nero7 and
b. guada2 had added the Nero Audio Plugins package (http://www.bitburners.com/remository/Download/Audio_Software_and_Encoders/Nero_Audio_Plugins/) in Nero6 times (which still work under Nero7) or had found a better version ;)
Welcome to neroplugins.bitburners.com, the official home of the Nero Audio Plugins by MauSau. These plugins provide additional audio format support to the popular Nero Burning ROM recording software. They are offered for free, but MauSau is accepting donations to support his developement work. The download link to the plugins is at the bottom of this page - please read the instructions before downloading.

Do not rename the files - The first two letters of the plugin DLL name must be "nx" in lower case, otherwise it won't be recognized by Nero Burning ROM.

Well quite apart from any nice japanese plugin packs, Nero is doing some heavy advertising with its Dolby 5.1 encoder/decoder. License declarations are also on the box etc.
Also I exported a short film from Vision Express with Dolby5.1 as preset and it shows in PowerDVD as having a Dolby5.1 track.
So - Dolby is there in this version - its just not properly available.
I've writen to Nero support, we'll see what they come up with......

Update:

I spoke to the expensive hotline and found out that SoundTrax can and will not export to Dolby for what the man considered maybe copyright issues.
However, a 6 channel 16 bit wav is correctly encoded to Dolby 5.1 when placed in NeroVision (even without a video track) wheras a 24bit wave is not!

Another update:

The Support via Email replied differently: Direct Dolby 5.1 export from "SoundTrax" will be supported in an upcomming patch. This answer was in German but I'll quote it here anyway:
Die Option zum Export von 5.1 Dolby aus Nero SoundTrax ist in der ersten Nero 7 Version leider noch nicht enthalten.
Diese Funktion wird in einem der nächsten Updates nachgeliefert.
Ein genauer Release Termin steht leider noch nicht fest.
