got this progdvb skystar2,now i have ben having some trouble in the mpeg2
format,the size of the file is 4.2 gb and 637mb and it took all bleeding night
to convert and when it was finished i burnt to dvd r+w and put into dvd rom
and started power dvd and it would not work error, the software i am using is divx to dvd converta can some one help newbie to all this stuff, i have done this with shrink and decrypter to which i can use, :mad:

Wrong forum.
Are you trying to burn a Video-DVD? If yes why are you using a DivX to DVD converter?! DVB is MPEG2 and can be easily burned to DVD without much hassle. Please refer to the DVB guides:

to day i have downloaded the following itams,
dvd patcher
ifoedit
dvd fab
the patcher was easy to setup but the ifoedit was anything but easy,i did select dvd author new dvd how do i go about starting the authorising,
the thing that want is to convert my mpeg film file what i have on my hdd into
somthing that i can burn to dvd :scared:

I'm not clear what you are trying to do!

Do you want to keep your existing MPEG-2 captured streams but re-author them to DVD~R/RW. Or do you want to re-encode your MPEG-2 captured streams to DivX (which is MPEG-4)?

i have got this skystar2 prgdvb card for my pc and i have just done a recording of a film in mpeg2 and wish to reortherise onto new dvd-r disk but
how to do it i dont have a clue,i have used shrink and decrypter i know how to use this software it just takes me a bit longer than other people to learn
so any help would be just brilliant and thanks from me back in old rainy england :cool:

You don't have to use DVD Decrypter...

It sounds to me like the only applications you need are DGIndex (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100757) and MuxMan (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=93553)

Basically you....

Fire up DGIndex's, drag and drop your capture into its window.... Wait a while.... Click on "File" and select "Save Project and De-mux Video..."

After a while you should get a collection of streams... but the ones you need are the video (.m2v) stream and the audio (.mpa or .ac3) stream

Close down DGIndex

Fire up MuxMan and separately load in the above mentioned streams. Select a "Destination Folder" and press Start

After another while, you should end up with a collection of familiar looking DVD VOB, IFO and BUP files....

Please take note though.... you need a lot of free HDD space to do this kind of thing. A minimum of 13GB in your case!

states anthings better than here its just rains all the time there is people
in my part of the uk never take off there rain macks,one day you will never find england because it will off gone under with all the rain we get hpoe you get lots of sun where you are

i there it richard hear again,i go into muxman and at the left hand corner
where it says video where it says file i click on file and and then click on file
then click on load projectthen this screen comes upwith (m2v) mxp when i
double click on m2v nothing happens so what am i doing rong,when i click on the right hand corner this window opens up and i select all files and 3 comes up 1 m2v 2 others come up but nothing works and every time i double click on this blue thing comes up to say multiple files open status 0 fiesaccepted
1 files rejected,i mean the first part of this thing that i have to do i got right
like dgindexer that was easy,i have done stuff where you double click on somthing and it goes right in side where it suppose to go but this will not go
into the right place,i have done some digital seca viaccess and seca files
to get my satellite reciever to work where you have to double click to get thie files into the right place so i think it just time before it all works out :confused:

well i got there in the end i just had another look and it turns out that i did
it rong the first time so i have just done it again and the green bar came up streat away but it says after it has done the scan this message,largest gop
42fiels exceed dvd specifications of 30 ressulting dvd is none stndards
multi play operation halted, dont know what this all means but i have just started shrink and it picked up the ts files streat away and did a full scan to
see if the film was good and it turns out it was brilliant so thanks for all the help,hope nothing goes rong but if it does i know where to come thanks

Each time you "Import" a new stream you will see this window, which will include your imported stream: -

just taped to hhd a film and its 100 minutets long and i have done one of these files and burnt to dvd disc and it worked ok but done another one and
trouble is never far away this time i did the same thing and this answae came
up to say,multiplex operation failed,gop contains more than 36 pictures
at 994507316 and 13.demuxed.m2v and no mater what i do it wont go right
i have looked at what you said but still wont have it done it 2 times now i
have not got a clue what all th above is all about

Yes....

The GOP (Group of Pictures) structures of an MPEG-2 stream have arranged to be in a certain way for use with DVD standard.

I think there are some MPEG-2 tools that can re-arrange GOP structures.... But this sort of thing is beyond my purview I'm afraid to say.

Hopefully another forum member can "chip-in" now ;)
